Project Description
We were commissioned to produce a campaign film and music video for the launch of the song “201,” a modern reinterpretation of the classic “En vänlig grönskas rika dräkt.” The song was performed by Min Stora Dag’s ambassadors, Danny Saucedo and Amy Deasismont. The project’s aim was to raise funds for Min Stora Dag’s work supporting children with serious illnesses and diagnoses, with all royalties directed to the organization.
Idea
Our vision was to create a film that captures the contrast between the joy of graduation traditions and the everyday reality for children battling serious illnesses. Directors Maria Sandström and Gabriel Schock employed a visual documentary aesthetic to give the film an intimate, authentic feel. By alternating between scenes of a class preparing for graduation and a “home fighter” celebrating with their family, we crafted a narrative filled with both warmth and depth.
Tone and Execution
Maria and Gabriel set a tone that evokes a Swedish summer idyll. Filmed in a scenic environment with earthy tones and subtle details, the film creates a magical and memorable summer atmosphere through graduation scenes and Swedish summer imagery. This is contrasted by moving portrayals of children and families confronting illness. The interplay of engaging storytelling and refined visual aesthetics reinforces both the campaign’s message and its emotional impact.
Results
Released in June 2024, the campaign film and music video received positive feedback. The emotional narrative not only amplified Min Stora Dag’s message but also raised awareness about the plight of these children, contributing to increased donations for the organization’s vital work.
