When MG’s agency, Guru Online, approached us to create a commercial for their new MG3 Hybrid+, we saw an opportunity to craft a heartfelt narrative that celebrated both the car and the connections it fosters. Centered on two strong female characters, the film portrayed their close friendship, with the MG3 Hybrid+ playing a pivotal role in their shared moments. The tone was warm, relatable, and emotionally resonant, emphasizing how the car became a part of their everyday lives.
Our vision for the project was to place the relationship between the characters at the heart of the story. The car served as more than just a mode of transportation—it was a space for laughter, meaningful conversations, and exploration. This approach added depth to the narrative, allowing viewers to connect with the story on a personal level.
To bring this vision to life, we focused on casting authentic, independent, and relatable women whose unique presence added intrigue and charm. The urban locations we selected were modern yet rich with character, creating a backdrop that felt dynamic and contemporary.
The cinematography was designed to evoke intimacy and warmth, with close-up angles capturing the characters’ emotions and the finer details of their journey. Meanwhile, wide shots and drone footage highlighted the car’s sleek design, compact practicality, and versatility. A camera mount was used to capture the MG3 Hybrid+ in motion, ensuring a seamless blend of aesthetic appeal and functionality.
The production was executed by a small, specialized crew with experience in car commercials, ensuring a polished result despite the minimalist setup. The final film not only showcased the MG3 Hybrid+ but also told a story of connection, exploration, and style, resonating deeply with the audience.
